Land access overlays

Add heritage, native title, protected areas, and other reference boundaries to your exploration map.

Add reference layers to a map

  1. Open a map search and select the settings control to open Search Result Settings.
  2. Find Land access and heritage.
  3. Expand a category to see its individual layers and source dates. Enable the layers relevant to your area.
  4. Close the dialog and review the boundaries alongside your drilling, survey layers, or tenements.

Choose the individual layers you need and check their source dates. An enabled-layer count describes your map selection.

Understand the coverage

The Australian collection combines national sources with more detailed Western Australian coverage. Available categories include:

  • Aboriginal cultural heritage.
  • National, Commonwealth, and World Heritage context.
  • Land access reference areas.
  • Native title claims, determinations, and agreements.
  • Protected areas and conservation land.

Coverage is specific to each layer. A layer covering Western Australia does not establish coverage for every Australian state or another country.

Use the boundaries for an initial review

Compare your area of interest with the enabled layers and inspect the linked source information. Source dataset dates and Mineflow's last-check dates help you judge the currency of the view.
