File processing charges
Processing turns your uploaded files into searchable data and map layers. It is charged separately from public data access, including on Professional, and starts only after you accept its quote.
What Mineflow processes automatically
The file format decides the product and the server measures the quantity from the file itself: pages in a report, data rows in a table, features in each GIS layer, pixel-band values in a raster.
| Product | Formats | Measured as |
|---|---|---|
| Report | pages | |
| Digital table | CSV, TSV, XLSX | rows |
| GIS layer | GeoJSON, GeoPackage, Shapefile | features |
| Raster import | Georeferenced TIFF | pixel-band values |
| Georeferenced map image | PNG, JPEG, TIFF without georeferencing | maps |
Other formats are reported as unsupported when you submit and are left out of the quote; they are never priced from a guess. standalone scanned tables, cross sections, map vectorization, predictions and substantial analysis are quoted separately and are not billed automatically. Structured drill import follows launch; until then drill tables are processed as digital tables.
What processing costs
Rates below are in USD; one purchased credit costs $1. Each product is priced per started block of its quantity, with a 5-credit minimum per document, import, map or layer. The public map search has no minimum charge.
| Service | Rate | Included work |
|---|---|---|
| Report (PDF) | $0.50 / page; $5 minimum per document | Text, tables and linked drilling inside the report. Map figures and cross sections inside a report are quoted separately. |
| Digital table (CSV, TSV, XLSX) | $5 / 100,000 rows; $5 minimum per import | Interpretation, normalization and indexing of the data rows. |
| GIS layer (GeoJSON, GeoPackage, Shapefile) | $5 / 100,000 features per layer; $5 minimum per layer | Normalization and map preparation of each source layer; unusually complex geometry is quoted separately. |
| Raster import (Georeferenced TIFF) | $5 / 100,000,000 pixel-band values per layer; $5 minimum per layer | Conversion and preparation for viewing. |
| Georeferenced map image (PNG, JPEG, TIFF without georeferencing) | $5 / map; $5 minimum per map | Geographic placement of one independent map figure. Not charged if the map cannot be placed. |
| Structured drill import | $0.05 / hole; $5 minimum per import | Follows launch. Until then drill tables are processed as digital tables. Linked collars, surveys, assays and lithology; the first 100,000 interval rows are included, then $5 per additional 100,000 rows. |
| Curated sample datasets | Free | Unchanged Mineflow samples added through the sample picker use no credits. |
| Corrective rerun of a processed component | Free | A component you already paid for is not billed again when it is processed again. |
| Failed components | Released | Reserved credits for a component that produced no output are returned to your balance. |
| Standalone scanned tables | Quoted separately | Not billed automatically. Agreed before the work starts. |
| Cross sections | Quoted separately | Not billed automatically. Agreed before the work starts. |
| Map vectorization | Quoted separately | Not billed automatically. Agreed before the work starts. |
| Predictions and substantial analysis | Quoted separately | Not billed automatically. Agreed before the work starts. |
Example processing costs
| Example | Charge | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Extract a 12-page report | 6 credits | 12 × 0.50; supported table extraction is included. Map figures and sections inside it are quoted separately. |
| Import a digital table with 150,000 rows | 10 credits | Two blocks of up to 100,000 rows at 5 credits each. |
| Import a GeoPackage with two layers of 40,000 features | 10 credits | Each source layer is one import of one block at 5 credits. |
| Import a georeferenced TIFF of 250 million pixel-band values | 15 credits | Three started blocks of 100 million values at 5 credits. |
| Georeference two map images | 10 credits | 2 × 5; each independent map figure is placed geographically. |
| Import 50 drillholes with 150,000 interval rows (after launch) | 10 credits | The 5-credit hole minimum plus one additional interval block at 5 credits. |
Quote, acceptance and settlement
After your files reach Mineflow, the server measures them and shows you a quote: each file, its product, the measured quantity and the credits it will use, next to your balance. Nothing is reserved until you accept. A quote is valid for 15 minutes; after that, submit the files again for a fresh quote. Quotes that cost nothing, such as curated samples or a corrective rerun, start immediately.
- Accept reserves the quoted credits and starts processing.
- Cancel keeps your files in your drive and uses no credits.
- If the quote exceeds your balance, nothing starts and nothing is charged. Add credits and submit the files again.
Credits stay reserved while processing runs. Each quoted component settles on its own: a report or table settles when its data was extracted, a GIS layer or raster when its layer was published, and a map image only when it was placed on the map. Components that produce no output are released back to your balance, so one failed component never charges the file it belongs to. Processing the same component again after a Mineflow error does not cost a second time.
See the reserved balance in Billing → Overview and completed file processing charges in Billing → Usage. After processing, searching your own files does not use search credits.
